Welcome to Pamela Fleetwood Nutrition

Nutrition at the heart of your physical, mental and emotional health.

I have a BSc. in Nutritional Therapy and I am a registered Nutritional Therapist with BANT and CNHC. I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist registered with ACCPH.

I live in Dorset and love working face to face or online to help individuals to incorporate good nutrition and behavioural & lifestyle changes into their daily lives, which can positively impact their immediate and long-term physical, mental and emotional health.

I have a background in counselling and whether it's digestive issues such as IBS, food intolerance or allergies, hormonal imbalances, improving energy levels or mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and stress, scientific research confirms that the application of nutritional therapy can make a positive difference.

I also specialise in helping individuals take a new approach to weight loss and management, through hypnotherapy, mindset and understanding the role of diet and lifestyle.

I am a mum of three teenagers. As a family, we love creating and eating delicious food, which, more often than not, is inspired by our 11 years living in Asia. I also enjoy walking and cycling in this beautiful county in England.

What is nutritional therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. Nutritional therapy practitioners use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual's symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows them to work with individuals to address nutritional balance and help support the body towards maintaining health. Nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.

Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a 'one size fits all' approach. Practitioners never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with 'red flag' signs or symptoms to their medical professional. They will also frequently work alongside a medical professional and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client's care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.

What is Hypnotherapy & How does it work?

Hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses relaxation and concentration to achieve a
heightened state of consciousness or mindfulness

The aim of hypnotherapy is to create a positive change in an individual, while he/she is in a state of unconsciousness or slumber (sleep). This form of therapy is considered alternative medicine with the purpose of utilising one’s mind to help reduce or alleviate a variety of issues, such as unwanted/unhealthy habits & behaviours, sleep disorders, weight loss, psychological distress and phobias.

Before each session, time is taken to discuss the clients aims and how they can benefit from hypnotherapy.

What does a nutritional therapy session typically involve?

Before the first consultation, I will provide a health and nutrition questionnaire for you to complete. The initial consultation lasts about 90 minutes, and, in that time, detailed questions are asked about your health goals, current health concerns, symptoms, diagnosis and treats, medical history, family history, lifestyle, levels of physical activity, use of medication, supplements and diet. Your needs are then evaluated with the use of extensive evidence based nutritional science to develop a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle programme.

Follow-up consultations are generally after four weeks in order to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments.

The Weight Loss Hypnotherapy Programme includes 2 further one hour sessions, which are used interchangeably for nutritional and hypnotherapy, depending on your needs.

What is Functional Testing?

Functional Testing can be used to identify hormonal imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, gut microbiome imbalances, food sensitives and/or intolerances etc., to better understand a person's current health concerns.

Therefore, Functional Testing focuses on the physiological function of the body to provide markers of health with laboratory testing using hair, urine, stools and/or blood samples, to identify what may be contributing to health issues, so informed and targeted nutritional therapy and lifestyle interventions can be developed to help a person move forward with their future health and wellbeing.

“I was introduced to Pam on a masterclass and found her information so helpful. I have taken some of her tips on board with regards to controlling my sugar cravings and have already found a remarkable change!”

Jenny T.

“Pam was so incredibly helpful and sensitive in dealing with my condition and helping to manage my symptoms. I have suffered with chronic pain on a regular basis since I was 14 and have tried everything from extreme medication to operations. However, the dietary recommendations and meal planning that Pam provided is the only effective treatments I have ever received. My symptoms are noticeably reduced and I feel stronger and healthier on a day-to-day basis. I felt very supported by Pam during the process and would recommend the excellent service she provides.”
